Chapter 50
Elisa stood frozen for a few moments, her eyes glued to the scene of her precious Ferrari being shoved aside with ease by one of Zachary’s bodyguards. The impact was so powerful it left her dumbfounded. For a brief second, she couldn’t even believe what had just happened. The car she’d cherished, the one she had flaunted so proudly, was now being reduced to nothing more than a wrecked obstacle in Zachary’s path. But even as the shock started to fade, her anger quickly replaced it.
Zachary had just humiliated her in front of his men and the security team. He had completely disregarded her feelings with that move. And yet, somehow, the audacity of his action—the sheer indifference to her presence—only seemed to fuel her determination. If Zachary thought he could brush her off like that, he was mistaken. This only made her more resolute in her mission to win him over.
“Zachary!” she shouted as she ran after the departing car, her voice full of defiance. “You owe me a new car! I’m going to bug you every single day until you make this right!” Her words rang out, her frustration at the situation bubbling to the surface. She had to make it clear to Zachary that she wouldn’t let this go, no matter how much he might try to ignore her.
Despite the damage to her beloved car, Elisa couldn’t help but feel a twisted sense of satisfaction. After all, the crash had made her presence undeniable. She had finally done it—she had gained Zachary’s attention in a way no one else had. It might have been a rough start, but it was a start nonetheless. She wasn’t going to stop now, not after going this far.
As Elisa stood there, staring at the mess that was once her Ferrari, a sense of exhilaration washed over her. She had been determined to get Zachary’s attention, and this stunt had certainly done the trick. Even though her car had been destroyed in the process, Elisa couldn’t bring herself to regret the decision. If anything, it had made her more certain of her feelings. She was in this, wholeheartedly.
With a mix of pride and frustration, Elisa watched as the security gates to York Corporation were swiftly closed behind her, effectively cutting her off from Zachary. She couldn’t get to him now, but that didn’t matter. This wasn’t over. She was going to make him see her, whether he liked it or not.
Despite the destruction of her car, Elisa’s resolve only strengthened. She would chase Zachary, persistently and relentlessly. She wasn’t the type to give up easily, and Zachary’s aloof attitude only made him more of a challenge. He might think he could intimidate her with his coldness, but Elisa was determined. She would break through his defenses, one way or another.
Her thoughts raced as she looked at the wrecked car. Zachary had shown her how ruthless he could be. And that was exactly why she found him so irresistible. He wasn’t like other men—he was unyielding, detached, and incredibly handsome. His confidence was magnetic. Elisa had admired him for so long, and now that she had his attention, there was no way she was going to let him go without a fight.
She took one last look at her car, silently vowing to make Zachary pay for what he had done—just not in the way he expected. This was only the beginning. She had already made it clear to him that she was here to stay. No matter how much he tried to ignore her, she would persist. Elisa Stone wasn’t one to back down from a challenge, and Zachary York would soon find that out the hard way.
