Chapter_203
Nathan stood frozen, still processing Sienna’s defiant words. It felt like he was seeing her for the first time. Sienna had always been obedient, the kind of woman he thought he could control, but now… Now, she was something entirely different—someone he couldn’t handle.
Sienna, on the other hand, felt a strange sense of relief after speaking her mind. The weight lifted off her shoulders, and her voice was steadier now as she turned to Yvette. “Yve, I’ve said my piece. Can we leave now?”
Yvette uncrossed her legs, pursing her lips. Her dark eyes and calm, composed demeanor radiated authority. Without a word, she stood, her chin slightly raised, and surveyed the room. She glanced at Sienna, who seemed both relieved and uncertain. With a single, sharp nod, Yvette moved toward the door.
She looked directly at Nathan and Damian, her voice calm but carrying an undeniable command. “Listen carefully. From now on, you have nothing to do with Sienna. Understand?”
Nathan opened his mouth to protest, his frustration bubbling over, but before he could say a word, Damian’s voice cut through the air, cold and venomous.
“Since Ms. Sterling has made her choice, the Goodman family certainly doesn’t lack for women,” Damian said, glaring at Sienna with an almost predatory gaze. “I expect you to terminate the pregnancy by tomorrow. The Goodman bloodline must not end up elsewhere.”
His words hung heavy in the air, each syllable dripping with disdain. He turned his gaze to Yvette, who stood casually with her hands in her pockets, exuding an air of nonchalance that contrasted with the intensity of the moment.
Damian’s tone softened just slightly, but his words were no less commanding. “Nathan and Sienna are done. Rest assured, Nathan will not be bothering her again. This issue is settled.”
Without a glance back, Yvette led Sienna out of the room.
The room was left in silence, with only Damian, Nathan, and Tyson remaining. After a long pause, Nathan’s face twisted in anger, his pride stung. His hands clenched into fists, and he moved as if to rush out after them. But just as he took a step forward, Damian’s hand shot out and slapped him across the face with a loud crack.
The force of the slap knocked Nathan’s head to the side, and his cheek immediately began to redden. He staggered, caught off guard, but when his eyes met Damian’s cold, unforgiving gaze, he froze.
The anger in Nathan’s eyes dimmed, replaced by a sinking sense of helplessness. He quickly masked his frustration, adopting a more subdued expression, and spoke in a reluctant, almost broken tone. “Grandpa… I don’t want to let go. I love Sienna.”
Damian’s gaze was icy. “She’s just a woman. There are plenty of others. Can’t you see the situation? Yvette is losing patience. If you keep this up, you won’t live to see tomorrow. If you keep bothering Sienna, the Goodman family doesn’t need someone so emotional. There are other heirs waiting in line.”
Nathan’s spine stiffened, the chill of his grandfather’s words sinking deep. I’m just a replacement in his eyes… Braydon’s the one who really matters.
His shoulders sagged, and the pain in his cheek was nothing compared to the crushing weight of his realization. He understood. For the Goodman family, love didn’t matter. Power did.
Nathan bowed his head, his voice soft and resigned. “I understand, Grandpa. I won’t look for Sienna again.”
The weight of his decision hit him hard, and his mind was a swirl of anger and bitterness, but there was nothing he could do. He despised Yvette, and he hated that she had been the one to change everything. Without her, Sienna would have never dared defy him like this.
His thoughts shifted quickly. “Grandpa, since Yvette’s here, why not just finish this once and for all…” Nathan made a slicing motion across his neck, his voice dark with intent.
Damian remained silent for a moment, his expression unreadable as he turned his gaze to Tyson, who had been standing quietly in the background.
“How advanced is her martial arts training now?” Damian asked, his tone casual but sharp.
Tyson lifted his head, his face serious. “She could defeat me in ten moves. A thousand would be easy for her, and ten thousand would be nothing.”
Nathan’s face drained of color. Is that even human? he thought, a shiver running down his spine. He remembered the terrifying scene from years ago when Yvette had easily escaped through a crowd of thousands, sending a ripple of fear through him.
Damian’s eyes narrowed as he observed Nathan’s reaction. His voice was low and frosty. “You’re being absurd. If you know what’s good for you, don’t provoke Yvette anymore. No one can protect you if you do.”
Nathan struggled internally, but in the end, he lowered his head, defeated. “I understand, Grandpa. Sienna and I are done.”
Meanwhile, outside of Royal Phoenix, a stylish woman in a manager’s suit hurried toward Yvette and Sienna. Without a word, she bowed deeply and handed Yvette a black card, both hands holding it reverently.
“Ms. Zeller, this is a gift from our club’s general manager. This is the only card of its kind in all of Mysonna. Whenever you visit our club, everything is on the house,” the manager said.
Yvette glanced at the card, her expression unreadable, before casually slipping it into her pocket. The manager, stunned by her nonchalance, couldn’t hide her surprise. Who is this woman? Everyone from Mysonna’s elites to celebrities would die for this card, and she just… pockets it like it’s nothing.
The manager’s worldview had been shattered twice today. First, when she saw Yvette getting off a bus to attend the Goodman family’s banquet. Then again, when she was asked to deliver the black card from the general manager herself.
This world is completely upside down, the manager thought, bewildered.
With a respectful smile, she escorted Yvette and Sienna out of the building.
As they approached the car, Bruce was already waiting, the door open. He greeted Yvette with a nod before glancing at Sienna to make sure she was alright.
“Yve,” Bruce said, his voice calm, but he quickly assessed Sienna’s state. Seeing that she was fine, he didn’t push for details. With Yvette around, he knew things would be taken care of.
Yvette nodded, and the three of them got into the car. Yvette settled comfortably in the backseat, adjusting her black baseball cap and half-closing her eyes. Her phone came out, and she resumed playing her familiar Super Mario game with a relaxed air.
Bruce, driving, couldn’t help but pause as the sound of the familiar childhood game filled the car.
Sienna, still reeling from everything that had just happened, couldn’t help but think to herself, She’s acting crazier than ever now.
Bruce hesitated, unsure of what exactly had gone down in Royal Phoenix, but he was glad things seemed resolved. He glanced at Sienna’s profile and asked, “Is everything sorted out?”
Sienna’s mood lifted slightly as she answered, her voice softer but content. “Yve handled everything. She’s like… two people in one. No, wait—she’s more like eight. Everything’s sorted. Nathan’s grandpa promised Nathan won’t bother me anymore, but…”
Bruce adjusted his glasses, sensing the hesitation in Sienna’s tone. “Damian promised? Nathan’s grandfather made a promise to you?”
Sienna nodded. “Yeah. But there’s more. They told me to terminate the pregnancy. I agreed. It feels like I was manipulated into this… maybe the child shouldn’t even be born. I’ve been thinking too simply. A child isn’t just my affair. If I kept it, I’d be tied to Nathan forever. I can’t do that.”
Just as Sienna finished speaking, Yvette’s phone buzzed, interrupting the moment.
